Flash Projects
I attended a couple of online Flash animation classes. These classes were taught by Stéphane Richer. The classes were 6 weeks in duration consisting of lecture notes, reading and a new assignment every two weeks. The classes and the instructor were great; I enjoyed the experience and felt I really got my money's worth from them. Below are samples of my work from these classes as well as an open house presentation that I created for BSG.
Sample 1
A bouncing ball, shaky text, a mask and a custom logo (recreated in Flash).
Sample 2
An experiment with sound synchronization and user buttons that play, rewind, pause and continue.
Sample 3
A menu.
Sample 4
Using Actionscript.
BSG Open House Project
While taking the intermediate Flash course, I was working on a Flash project for the open house of my then current employer. The project was completed in a minimal amount of time with just two people. Myself (I did all the Flash work and sound editing), and a co-worker who provide me with voice-overs, helped brainstorm ideas and gathered some of the artwork. Given the timeframe that we were working with, I think we did a remarkable job. It takes a great deal of time to put something like this together but we managed to pull it off (50 minutes before show time!). It was a challenging, but fun, experience. I also learned how to do sound editing on the fly.
